Version Upgrade

You may have noticed we have a new masthead, proclaiming our move towards Community 2.0. It’s an exciting New Age and an exciting New Britain that we’re building and we wanted to reflect some of that excitement. We’re rolling out a new version of society for the Information Age. Our vision is to go the extra mile and facilitate the Software Re-engineering of the British Identity!

A Valentine

To my sweet lover, in your world of fiction,
Despite your mad dreams, you’re still my addiction.
Happy Valentine.

Just a thought

Truth is fucking truth wherever. And it just struck me: whatever really happened to those girls in R Wing anyway? What’s the truth there? Talking of sacrifices and all that. Who betrayed them?
You can’t be here for long Tristram, you’ve done nothing, there’s nothing wrong with you. You’ll see everyone again, promise.

‘Truth’ in the Community

‘Truth’ is a very subjective concept, Roxanne. Here, ‘truth’ is what binds people together in the community by the sharing through dialogue and language. It’s not what divides and separates people, not what antagonises them. And I do think, in the name of the sisterhood that binds us women together, Roxanne, you shouldn’t glorify your exploitation at the hands of men in that way. It’s betraying your sisters and undoing all the advances women have made, built on the sacrifices of many courageous feminists throughout history.

Loneliness

Yes, I feel terribly alone. I miss my cat. I wonder where my Dad is?

Valentine's Day Massacre

Well, I thought I might get noticed, someone likes my story and I get a book deal. And since my loved ones have been taken from me and how loads of people here are separated and alone, and people are dying, I thought I’d just be real, tell the truth. There’s no romance in loneliness.

Human Rights

Freedoms can be abused, Roxanne. The right to free speech is one thing but it’s more important that people have the right not to be upset and not to have their most sacred beliefs mocked in that way. People have duties to society and they’re given their rights in return for performing those duties.

Free Speech

I thought you said there was no censorship and Dr Z says blogs are a free debate and democracy etc.

Enough cynicism

I think Roxanne’s being shockingly cynical here, and I’m sure the Community strongly disapproves of the way she’s taken advantage of the freedom we have on our blog. This behaviour is spoiling what is a very romantic time for many people and offending them deeply.

Love Story

It was a dark and stormy night and I said to my mate, ‘Tell us a story’. Because I was bored, and freezing, shivering in a low top and a short skirt waiting for some disgusting bloke to stop in his car and take me down the alley or somewhere. Yes, I was on the game for a while. I’m not ashamed to tell it, it’s a good story if told well. It wasn’t all bad either. I had some great times, believe it or not. And some shit ones, some heavy ones. But that night seemed especially grim, so I lit another cig, under the illusion that it would make me warmer somehow, and got ready to listen to Molly’s story. It promised to be a good one.

Fantasy

That would be cool Clary. I thought I could write you a fantasy story. Just to show you I’ve got a poetic side.

Science and Romance

I thought I’d write a science poem like you wanted Joseph—only from a feminine point of view, with romance in it. But we’d love to hear your story Roxanne.

Warm porridge

Valentine’s day already??!! Well, I’ve got just the story. It’s about how I got the porridge to keep my heart warm, so Veronica should love it.

Valentine's Day

The story’s getting really exciting Don! I hope there’s some romantic bits as well though. It’s Valentine’s Day soon—why don’t we all write something special about love?
